This may be your family

Working hard.
Still getting stuck.

You may be working very hard and still finding yourselves in the same moments.

One child gets louder. Another shuts down, disappears, or agrees while becoming harder to reach. School meetings may feel adversarial. Advice about rewards, consequences, or consistency may not fully explain what is happening, much less help your family change it.

Your family does not have to be in crisis, and your child does not need a diagnosis to belong here. We also bring extensive experience supporting neurodivergent youth and families, including families living with high-intensity behavior and complex relational situations.

What can change

Understand the pattern.
Practice something different.

Three cumulative pathways

Begin with Foundations.
Add the support you need.

These pathways build on one another. Each level includes the foundation beneath it, then adds the appropriate individualized support.

01Foundations

Shared understanding, learning, practice, and caregiver community.

02Individualized Family Practice

24 hours of sustained support for your family’s real situations.

03Youth Sessions

24 youth-facing hours with Matt plus three caregiver hours with Sara.

Family Practice with Youth

Best when: Caregivers and the young person would both benefit from direct support, connected without making the child responsible for changing the family.

Includes: 24 Youth-facing hours, a 90-minute caregiver onboarding, and three 30-minute caregiver check-ins: 27 Youth-component hours total.

Use period: Family retains its 20-week window; Youth has its own 12-week window from the first actual Youth session after onboarding.

Explore Youth Sessions

Looking only for support for your child? Youth Sessions are also available on their own and do not require Foundations.

Family payment-plan dates are enrollment, November 18, and December 16, 2026. Two founding family places are available. Youth depends on fit, location, and availability.

Why every pathway begins with Foundations

Understanding changes
what becomes possible.

When family life keeps repeating the same painful patterns, it is easy to land in one of two explanations: the child is choosing the behavior, or the caregiver has failed. Neither explanation tells the whole story.

Foundations helps caregivers understand behavior and relationships in context. We look at what the nervous system has learned, what each person is protecting, and how earlier experiences enter present-day relationships. Understanding those influences does not remove accountability or make harmful behavior acceptable. It creates room for accountability without blame.

Information matters. Practice helps it stay.

Through the Academy and Integration Groups, caregivers bring real moments into the room, attempt new language and responses, and work out how the information applies in daily life.

Community is part of the practice.

Integration Groups create a place to speak honestly with people who understand. Shared practice and reduced isolation are central to Foundations, not an extra around the edges.

Experience behind this work

Built from respected work.
Deepened through practice.

Sara and Matt bring extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children and families navigating intense behavior and complex family relationships. Their work has included caregiver education, individual and group support, and collaboration with schools and case managers across home, community, and farm settings.

Foundations includes material from Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors, a course developed by Robyn Gobbel. Sara and Matt are graduates of the BBTI Professional Immersion Program and Registered Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors Course Facilitators. They have taught the curriculum since 2022.

School of Self adds embodied learning, Integration Groups, relational practice, and repeated application so caregivers can do more than understand the information.

Why Family Practice adds time and consistency

Use the shared map
in your actual life.

Foundations gives the family a shared map. Individualized Family Practice gives us enough time to use that map in the situations that keep happening at home and in the systems around you.

This is not an arbitrary bundle of hours. The sustained structure allows us to slow down recurring situations, understand what each person is carrying, respond as needs change, practice boundaries and repair, and help new ways of relating take hold.

“Her confidence, independence, self-advocacy and awareness have skyrocketed. … Thank you for the work you do and difference you have made for our whole family.”

When your child needs a relationship of their own

A separate space.
Thoughtfully coordinated.

Family Practice with Youth adds direct Youth Sessions with Matt. The child is not made responsible for fixing the family. They have a separate, steady relationship in which they can develop voice, choice, self-understanding, confidence, and belonging.

When appropriate and available, Youth Sessions can also help a young person move toward Friendship Circles, where relationship and belonging can be practiced with peers.

School Meeting Advocacy

School meetings can be
difficult to hold alone.

We can help caregivers prepare, clarify what they want others to understand, ask better questions, and participate without automatically deferring to professional authority.

Advocacy remains a separate, bounded service. When a family is also participating in Family Practice, it can be coordinated with the larger plan without becoming a fourth package.

Risk and fit

A significant commitment
begins with a real conversation.

A conversation with Sara is required before purchase. We talk about what your family is carrying, which configuration makes sense, and whether Youth is appropriate, local, and available.

Family Early Fit follows intake and at least two Family sessions, through seven days after the third Family session. Family and Youth may end independently. Foundations is excluded from Early Fit credit. Eligible paid-minus-delivered individualized support becomes a twelve-month same-family service credit; unpaid charges for undelivered work in an ending component are canceled. Delivered-but-unpaid and continuing-component obligations remain, and the bundle discount is not removed retroactively.

Ordinary withdrawal leaves the remaining balance owed. Additional-support requests receive acknowledgment and a next step within two business days, not a promise of immediate or unlimited support.

Before you decide

Frequently asked questions

How do I know which level is right for us?

You do not need to diagnose your family or choose the largest program first. We will talk about what is happening, who needs direct support, and which starting place appears to fit.

Can I purchase parent coaching without Foundations?

Yes, through the separate eight-hour Coaching Block. It is focused, time-bounded individual work, not Family Practice.

Does my child have to participate?

No. Foundations and Family Practice can be caregiver-only. Direct participation by the young person is included only in Family Practice with Youth. Youth Sessions may also be purchased on their own.

Can you work with high-intensity behavior?

We have extensive experience with significant behavior and complicated family situations. That does not mean every current situation is a fit. School of Self is not a crisis-response service.

Do we have to work with horses?

No. Horses may become part of the work only when they support the family’s goals and everyone involved agrees.

Is this therapy?

No. School of Self is a relational learning and practice program, not therapy, medical treatment, or emergency care.
